June 06, 2007
Sarasota, FL - From the Greatest Generation to Gen X, and even Gen Y, the latest editions of WEVA ON THE AIR podcasts will introduce you to successful concepts and methods used by WEVA members to produce polished wedding films.
"Legends from The WEVA Vault," hosted by WEVA Wedding & Event Videography Hall of Fame inductees Kathy and Al Ritondo, now includes a new vidcast (show #8) with WEVA veteran and pro-active local association leader June Ellis, recently retired. Spotlighting the history and success of renown WEVA members, "Legends from The WEVA Vault" is an ongoing series produced for the WEVA community by the two podcast pioneers who are also co-founders of New York Professional Videographers (NYPV).
A WEVA Hall of Fame inductee and industry pioneer, June Ellis served as president and treasurer of her local videographers association in northern California and was the glue that held it together for many years. She shares her trailblazing experiences and simple timeless advice for industry newcomers. June is currently a member of the Sacramento Professional Videographers Association.
"Tech Talk" podcasts cover all forms of technology used in wedding and event video productions. Show Number 15 (42 min), just posted, features special guest Darrell Aubert who talks with Al & Kathy about the low-cost tools he uses to create highly-stylized wedding productions. A member of the Greater Philadelphia Videographers Association, Aubert is a 19-year old college student and already a seasoned wedding videographer. He talks about key aspects of his wedding video business, which he started at age 17. Listen in as he relates the shooting techniques he applies with gear that includes: Glidecam, Smooth Shooter, Vacuum Mount, Bogen Magic Arm and Superclamp, the Kessler Crane, and more.
"In The Biz" covers the business side of professional wedding videography. In Show Number 20, just added, Kathy talks with the new president of the Utah Professional Videographers Association David Perry of David Perry Films. A dad of just two weeks, David takes a break to discuss the successful, and lightning-fast techniques he uses in 90% of his Same Day Edits.
Specializing in LDS Temple Weddings (apx. 100/year), David talks about the complete production process from selling and job preparation, to shooting, editing, and on-location presentations. Discover outstanding new video concepts, plus tips and tricks with Sony Vegas and exciting clips to watch. David has also been using his video skills to actively lobby for changes in the International Adoption Laws in Africa to help children who have been left without parents.
