Yoshi Kohara, ABC's Director of Asian Marketing to Speak at IVA Nov. 17

Sarasota, FL - This Tuesday, November 17, the Illinois Videographers Association IVA will host the Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC) to welcome featured speaker Yoshi Kohara, ABC’s Director of Asian Marketing, based in Tokyo (pictured at right). Pesenting on "Japanese Wedding Customs" Mr. Kohara will highlight for videographers and bridal consultants, the unique customs of the Japanese wedding culture and new trends in event marketing.
Just over a year ago, by invitation from Mr. Kohara, WEVA Public Relations Committee Chairperson and Wedding & Event Videography Hall of Fame inductee, Kris Malandruccolo (pictured here), owner of Elegant Videos by Kris (IL) was in Japan to present WEVA’s Power of Video program to bridal consultants and videographers at ABC conferences in Tokyo and Osaka. The success of both meetings in July 2008 fostered an industry breakthrough in affiliate relations on an international level. One month later, Mr. Kohara traveled to the U.S. to attend the annual WEVA Wedding & Event Video Expo to learn more about the newest wedding video trends worldwide and discuss emerging digital technologies.
The importance of industrywide networking continues as Mr. Kohara will be in Chicago to meet with Kris in her studio. He will be using a variety of her wedding films to teach American wedding customs to Japanese bridal consultants in schools across Japan.
For the meeting Tuesday night, the IVA has invited the ABC’s Chicago chapter to attend. The joint meeting will conclude with a moderated panel of six leading bridal consultants answering questions from videographers about marketing and bridal industry trends influencing the new wedding season ahead.
