Emmy Award-Winning Filmmaker Sheila Curran Bernard, Author of 'Documentary Storytelling' to Speak at WEVA EXPO 2008

Sarasota, FL - WEVA EXPO 2008 “The Movies & The Magic” is bringing new faces and expanded programming to the EXPO platform. "Emmy and Peabody Award-winning filmmaker, Sheila Curran Bernard, author of Documentary Storytelling a best-selling guide to story and structure in non-fiction filmmaking, will be a featured speaker at the WEVA 18th Annual Wedding & Event Video Expo," said John Zale WEVA's Director of Educational Development. "Every wedding video tells a story. This August, event videographers will have an extraordinary opportunity to learn creative methods and tools documentary filmmakers use to enhance storytelling by attending Sheila Curran Bernard's presentation during WEVA EXPO 2008," Zale said.
Bernard has played a leading role in creating projects for national and international broadcast and theatrical release, with credits including Eyes on the Prize, I’ll Make Me a World, and Wired to Win: Surviving the Tour de France. She has taught at Princeton University, Westbrook College and this fall will join the faculty of the University at Albany.
"Documentary Storytelling is one of the few books that focuses on making films from reality, and offers to videographers a clear education on how to transform the real events around you into a powerful story," said Brett Culp president of The CVP Experience, a multi-year WEVA Creative Excellence Award-winning company and leading industry innovator. Bernard will be speaking on Tuesday August 12.
