Sarasota, FL - Who is your personal WEVA Hero? The "Call for Nominations" for the WEVA 2008 Special Awards of Industry Recognition has been announced by Wedding & Event Videographers Association International, the world's largest trade association representing professional videographers. Deadline for all nominations is May 25, 2008. Submit your nominations on the WEVA website at www.weva.com by clicking the "WEVA Honorees" tab on the left side, or just CLICK HERE!

Think about videographers who in the spirit of WEVA fellowship have inspired you, shared their knowledge with you, contributed to the growth of our industry, or given you the vision to take your own business to the next level. Think about someone whom you may know has performed pro-bono video services for a non-profit organization or for victims of unfortunate events. Then, nominate those special WEVA members now. The WEVA 2008 Special Awards of Industry Recognition will be presented Monday evening, August 11, 2008 at the WEVA 18th Annual Wedding & Event Video Expo August 11-14, 2008 at the JW Marriott Orlando Grande Lakes.
Local Outreach Continues
“Building on the success of last year’s nominations process, the WEVA Special Awards Committee will again seek input from local association leaders across the country,” said WEVA Special Awards Committee Chairman Ken Kurita, co-owner of Videon Productions (MN). “WEVA continues to recognize the importance that local videographers associations play in the achievements of their individual members, and we look forward to having all WEVA members participate in the 2008 nominations.”
The Awards Night celebration will begin with complimentary dinner for all WEVA EXPO 2008 attendees at the EXPO’s “Opening Night Gala” on Monday August 11 and will feature the announcement and screenings of winning entries in the WEVA 18th Annual Creative Excellence Awards Competition. “It's going to be an exciting, fast-paced, and inspiring kick-off for WEVA EXPO 2008!” said Kurita. “The time to submit nominations for the WEVA 2008 Special Awards is now.”

The WEVA Special Awards Committee reviews all nominations, conducts background research, and finalizes selections through a collective decision making process in a confidential environment.
