WEVA's 'Power of Video' at ABC Convention Prompts Chapter Programs
March 11, 2008
Sarasota, FL - WEVA's "The Power of Video and How to Get More Business by Using It" an emotion-filled, video education presentation developed by the Public Relations Committee of Wedding & Event Videographers Association International (WEVA) not only shows bridal industry vendors the enormous impact of professional wedding videography, and how to use video to market their own wedding services, it’s also demonstrating the power of industry-wide networking!
When "The Power of Video" was presented to wedding planners at the annual convention of the Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC) last November, the program proved so popular attendees asked for it to be presented to their local ABC chapters.
"We'll be starting with the ABC chapter in Cleveland, OH on March 25th," said WEVA Public Relations Chairperson Kris Malandruccolo, who presented “The Power of Video” at the ABC's annual convention and trade show held in Orlando, Florida. The 2007 convention theme was "Florida Fusion." Watch Video - Click Here! "We were excited to have Kris and WEVA present on ‘The Power of Video.’ It had been over 15 years since we’d had a seminar on professional videography at one of our annual conventions!" says ABC Conference Coordinator Eileen Monahan, adding, "Kris, who has been an ABC member since 1997, is the first and only videographer to earn ABC’s designation of Master Wedding Vendor."
Promoting the Value of Video Nationwide
A WEVA Wedding & Event Videography Hall of Fame inductee, Kris, who owns Elegant Videos by Kris, presented "The Power of Video" program in multiple sessions during the convention, which attracted some 400 wedding planners nationally and internationally (session attendees pictured on-site). Additionally, Kris and her husband Bob led roundtable discussions during the conference and managed the WEVA exhibit booth at the ABC Trade Show. Representatives from local videographers associations in Tampa and Orlando were also on-hand to share information with convention attendees.
Presented throughout 2007, "The Power of Video” is continuing “on the road” for 2008 with programs planned for bridal industry affiliates and others as part of WEVA’s on-going promotion of professional videography nationwide. "'The Power of Video,' presentation," says Kris, "grew out of the success of the WEVA 'Take a Bridal Consultant to Lunch' initiative that was developed for WEVA members by the PR Committee in 2005."
Launched in January 2006, WEVA’s free “Lunch Kits” were instantly downloaded by members across the country, quickly becoming one of WEVA’s most popular perks.
Andy Townsend, who implemented the networking program for his company Digital Video Solutions relates, "I've been taking advantage of WEVA's ‘Take a Bridal Consultant to Lunch’ program and think it's a wonderful program. It really helps to have everything laid out the way WEVA did." Larry Peters of Movietyme Video Productions adds he’s even used the Lunch Kit to help organize a video presentation to a room full of local consultants in his Indianapolis market.
Industry groups that would like to have “The Power of Video” presented locally are invited to contact WEVA’s Director of Association Communications Dan Argenas at [email protected] or Kris Malandruccolo at [email protected] for more information.
