New Categories & More Chances to Win in WEVA CEA
May 23, 2006
Sarasota, FL - New changes to video categories and entry rules for this year’s 16th Annual WEVA Creative Excellence Awards (CEA) Competition mean videographers will have more chances to win, with more opportunities to enter their finest productions in the industry’s most prestigious awards competition.
The 2006 entry form and rules, set for posting shortly on the WEVA website, will unveil at least two brand new CEA categories, based on member suggestions, including Bridal Spotlight Video and Wedding Instant-Edit.
Importantly, the WEVA CEA Competition rules have been changed for 2006 to allow for an exciting two entries per category, instead of one only.
The 2006 WEVA CEA winning entries will be officially announced (and screened) at the Creative Excellence Video Fest August 21st at the WEVA 16th Annual Wedding & Event Video Expo 2006 heading to the beaches of exotic Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas on August 21-24, 2006. (Early-bird discount registration for WEVA EXPO 2006 will open soon on the WEVA website.) All CEA entries will need to be submitted by the June 2006 deadline.
The 2006 competition categories welcome entries that cover a variety of social events, as well as corporate events, including weddings, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, class reunions, dance recitals, theatrical productions, cheerleading competitions, memorial services, anniversaries, christenings, charity events, and others.
In addition to Bridal Spotlight Video and Wedding Instant Edit, the official 2006 category headers will include: Wedding Highlights Production, Photo Montage Production, Theatrical Event Production, Wedding Love Story, Corporate Event Coverage, Wedding Pre-Ceremony Production, Wedding Ceremony Coverage, Wedding Post-Ceremony Production, Wedding Reception Coverage, Concept Video Production, Social Event Coverage, Wedding Short-Form Production, and Wedding Demo Production.
WEVA International’s Creative Excellence Awards Competition has honored outstanding production achievements worldwide for the past 15 years. “Every year the WEVA CEA entries ‘raise the bar’ of video creativity in our industry to new heights and inspire new approaches, new applications, and new concepts,” states WEVA International Chairman Roy Chapman.
Last year, over 50 WEVA Creative Excellence Awards, including the annual WEVA Best of Category Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Finalist Awards were presented to professional wedding and event videographers nationally and internationally. Many were first-time recipients. To view the WEVA CEA 2005 Winners List-Click Here!
