Toshiba Shipping HD DVD Notebook Computer

Los Angeles, CA - Toshiba announced they are shipping the HD DVD-ROM drive equipped Qosmio™ G35-AV650 AV notebook PC ($2999), the first Toshiba notebook computer to integrate an optical drive under the DVD Forum's new HD DVD media standard.
In addition to reading HD DVD discs, the new drive supports DVD SuperMulti Drive technology, which reads or writes CDs and DVDs. This lets you continue to use existing disc formats while also taking advantage of the cutting-edge HD DVD technology.
HD DVD discs have 30GB of storage capacity, enough to play even the longest-running HD movie.
The discs are more mobile because they are less sensitive to surface blemishes and fingerprints, according to Toshiba.
