WEVA Announces First Videographers to Attain National MPV Accreditation
April 15, 2005

Sarasota, FL - The Wedding & Event Videographers Association International (WEVA), the largest non-profit trade association for professional videographers, is pleased to announce the first graduates of the new WEVA International Merited Professional Videographer (MPV) accreditation program.

WEVA MPV accreditation introduces a new way to recognize the professional wedding and event videographer who is uniquely dedicated to his or her craft and to the success of a vital and growing creative service industry.

WEVA MPV status provides a videographer an additional way to promote their professional achievement and dedication to their clients, as well as acknowledging their pursuit of continuing education.

The MPV accreditation program offers this special recognition to WEVA International members who demonstrate their abilities by passing an industry-specific written examination and video image evaluations; and who regularly update their professional skills, both in conceptual and practical performance.

The following WEVA International members have qualified as the initial graduates of this prestigious program, the first such association accreditation at the national level for professional wedding and event videographers:

John Deyo of ViDeyo Arts Videos (Boston, MN).
John Goolsby of Cannon Video Productions, Inc. (Riverside, CA).
Chip Goolsby of Cannon Video Productions, Inc. (Riverside, CA).
Michael Kolowich of DigiNovations, Inc. (Concord, MA).
Shawn Lam, Shawn Lam Video (Coquitlam, BC - Canada).
Eric Model of Reel Moments Video (Nanuet, NY).
Michael Nelson of Remember When Videos (Salt Lake City, UT).
Fred Tims of Fred Tims Video (Mastic Beach, NY).
Michael Kolowich, MPV
Shawn Lam, MPV
Fred Tims, MPV

“On behalf of our association chairman, Roy Chapman, and the entire MPV committee, I would like to congratulate these industry pioneers for their hard work and dedication in passing the rigorous standards set forth by the WEVA Continuing Education Committee, which was responsible for developing the MPV accreditation program over a four-year period, ” said Daniel S. Krieger committee chairman.

Kreiger added that, “we believe the precedent set forth by this first group of newly-accredited videographers will pave the way for many more professional videographers to begin the quest for their MPV accreditation, and will further the growth of our exciting profession.”
