December 17, 2004
Sarasota, FL - Block your calendar now! The WEVA 15th Annual Wedding & Event Video Expo will be held August 8-11, 2005 at the spectacular Las Vegas Hilton in Las Vegas, NV (www.lvhilton.com).
"Being the convention’s 15th year means WEVA EXPO 2005 will be a hallmark event for our association and the professional wedding and event video industry at large," said WEVA International’s Director of Association Communications Dan Argenas. "Wedding and event videography has come such a long way since our first convention and trade show back in 1991. Since then, the EXPO has continued to have an enormous impact on videographers, manufacturers, and industry associates each and every year."
WEVA EXPO 2005, he said, will reflect this tremendous influence with state-of-the-art seminars, workshops, hands-on exhibits, special activities and demonstrations devoted exclusively to professional wedding and event videographers. Admission is open to both members and non-members. WEVA International members receive discount admission.
To accommodate the show’s continuing growth, and in honor of the association’s historic event, WEVA EXPO is moving from Bally’s Las Vegas to bigger facilities at the famous Las Vegas Hilton, one of the largest and most popular convention and resort hotels in the world.
WEVA EXPO 2005 will be expanding into over 140,000 square feet of convention and exhibit space, and will feature over 70 industry-specific programs presented by leading wedding and event videographers from across the US and worldwide, including Australia, England, Canada, and Mexico.
WEVA EXPO 2005 will showcase cutting-edge technology, production tools and techniques, and focus on successful new multi-media marketing and business strategies for wedding and event videographers working at all levels.
The WEVA EXPO Trade Show, the biggest show of the year for wedding and event videographers, will present new NLE, DV, and HDV product introductions, hands-on exhibits of new accessories, plus system-specific training right on the WEVA trade show floor.
Argenas said members interested in speaking on select topics at WEVA EXPO 2005 are encouraged to enter their workshop or seminar proposal(s) now in the special WEVA EXPO 2005 Proposal Form on the WEVA International website (see "Call for Proposals" in the WEVA News section at www.weva.com).
Positioned earlier in the calendar than last year, WEVA EXPO 2005 will officially open Monday, August 8, 2005 at 5:45 pm and will wrap-up by 5:00 pm Thursday, August 11, 2005. Optional pre-convention workshops will be held during the day on Monday. The WEVA Trade Show will be open on Tuesday August 9 and Wednesday, August 10, 2005.
The WEVA 15th Annual Creative Excellence Awards, Special Recognition Awards, including announcement of the 2005 WEVA Wedding & Event Videography Hall of Fame inductees will be presented on Monday evening.
Set for screening at the upcoming show is a special retrospective (documentary) video, already in production, that will trace the EXPO’s 15-year history, and will spotlight the contributions of pioneering videographers who have propelled the industry forward (including WEVA Wedding & Event Videography Hall of Fame inductees and WEVA Special Award recipients).
