|Start a Local Videographers Association - WEVA Shows You How!
February 15, 2005
Sarasota, FL - The Wedding & Event Videographers Association International (WEVA) has been helping professional videographers start and develop local videographers associations since 1995. If you are a professional videographer without a local association in your community and would like to get an association started, contact WEVA International today for free start-up information, and to obtain WEVA’s free Local Association Development Kit.
WEVA's National Select Committee on Local Association Development, working in tandem with the WEVA Local Association Presidents Council, created and organized the first-ever "Guide to Local Association Development" 10 years ago. Since then, the kit has been revised and updated and many new local associations are now up and running, or increasing their success, as a result of the tremendous time and effort of WEVA International members who have served on the Committee, and attend the annual Council meetings.
The WEVA Local Association Presidents Council meets three times each year. WEVA International hosts two regional (east and west coast) meetings annually, as well as the Council’s national/international Summit Meeting, which is held every summer at
The Council’s Summit Meeting provides the largest communications and networking forum in the world for the leaders of local videographers associations. At each meeting, key issues are discussed and ideas are exchanged for improving the ability of local groups to serve the needs of their members and the professional videography industry at large. The valuable information that is shared has helped many local associations grow and expand. The WEVA Local Association Presidents Council also continues to serve in the important role as WEVA’s advisory panel. WEVA International has acted upon many of the keen suggestions the Council has advised, including development of new and extended WEVA Institute programming, new conference presentations, advocacy committee recommendations, and more. The Council’s next Summit Meeting will be held on August 8, 2005, during the WEVA 15th Annual Wedding & Event Video Expo at the Las Vegas Hilton (For information Click Here.)
Throughout the year, WEVA International stays in touch with local association leaders by sharing information and ideas at regional venues, such as during the annual WEVA Town Meeting events, and through special joint meetings.
WEVA International also helps leaders of local groups utilize valuable association resources such as WEVA's Nationwide Survey of Brides commissioned by WEVA to help educate brides about the value of professional videography. Brides can find the Survey results linked on the WEVA Brides Guide section of the association's website. (Results from WEVA International's new 2005 Nationwide Survey of Brides will be released this spring.)
A free listing for local videographers associations appears in the Local Association Directory in every issue of Wedding & Event Videography magazine, the official association publication for WEVA International members.
The WEVA International website provides a free link for Local Associations on the Industry Links section of the WEVA website, and also hosts a WEVA Advisory Forum devoted to Local Association News and Developments.
