Sarasota, FL - Wedding & Event Videographers Association International (WEVA), the world’s largest trade association for professional videographers, has announced the 2008 "Call For Entries" for the WEVA 18th Annual Creative Excellence Awards Competition. Deadline for all video entries to be received on DVDs (not tape) by WEVA is 5:00 pm Thursday, June 5, 2008.

The 2008 winning entries will be officially announced and screened at the WEVA Creative Excellence Film Fest August 11, 2008 during the “Opening Night Gala” of the WEVA 18th Annual Wedding & Event Video Expo 2008 at the JW Marriott Orlando Grande Lakes in Orlando, FL.

"The Creative Excellence Competition, in its 18th year, is once again open to all professional wedding and event videographers worldwide. It is a WEVA peer-reviewed competition and represents the highest awards honor in production achievement in our industry. There is always a new panel of judges every year, and each year brings a fresh opportunity for new productions to be honored. All videographers are encouraged to enter their best work!"
15 Video Categories
The 2008 WEVA Creative Excellence Awards Competition embraces 15 video categories. Like last year, the Official Rules allow you to enter as many of the 15 categories as you wish, and you may submit up to two video entries per each category. Entries must be copies of completed productions and not re-edited for competition purposes unless specified by the Official Rules. Multiple entries may be submitted (WEVA Members receive entry fee discount), and each entry must be submitted on a separate DVD.
The WEVA categories welcome videos that cover a variety of social events and corporate video, including weddings, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, class reunions, recitals, theatrical/stage productions, promotional videos, graduations, band performances, cheerleading competitions, memorial services, corporate training, anniversaries, christenings, charity events, and others. Each year, awards are presented to professional wedding and event videographers nationally and internationally. Many are first-time recipients. Enter your finest work now on DVD.
