Free Abobe 4.5 Hour Pre-Convention Workshop on Monday
Many videographers coming to Wedding & Event Video Expo are eager to get started even before the doors officially open at 5:45 pm Monday, August 21st. At 10:30 am WEVA will be hold a special 90-minute orientation for first-time EXPO attendees.
On Monday, in addition to WEVA's optional pre-convention workshops, Adobe Systems will be providing free instruction for videographers on its new and powerful Production Studio editing software from 1pm-5:30pm. This special extended training session is free to registered WEVA EXPO attendees who sign-up in advance. Gain Greater Success With Evolving Technologies
Another sneak peek at the 2006 convention programming reveals that this year videographers are invited to bring popular camcorders with them to participate in special WEVA EXPO tech sessions called “Camera Clinics." These new sessions, which will repeat during the EXPO, will provide hands-on training in specific camera operations, including how to customize camera settings for optimum results in a variety of shooting environments.
WEVA EXPO 2006, Zale added, “will draw on current and evolving technologies, including HD/HDV, and new media technologies like portable video, to enable wedding and event videographers to reach a whole new level of creativity, skill-sets, and profitability. Attendees will discover how to use cutting-edge technology and techniques to get the upper-hand not just in workflow, but in other key areas, including marketing and sales, Internet video, and in the increasing opportunities emerging for weekday work.

WEVA EXPO 2006 attendees will also discover cutting-edge techniques, new editing styles and production concepts featured in the annual WEVA EXPO “BATTLE OF THE VIDEOGRAPHERS! series, including “Battle of the Wedding Editing Styles” and the first-ever “Local Association Production Shoot-Out.”
“The 'Local Association Production Shoot-Out' will feature the collaborative work of wedding & event videographers nationwide as they compete through their Local Associations to produce the best 60-second TV commercial for promoting professional wedding videography. Attendees will cast their ballots for the best production at the world premier screening at WEVA EXPO 2006,” Zale said.
“EXPO attendees can gain new skills in video concept development, new ideas for promoting wedding videography, and learn innovative shooting & editing techniques, all towards the goal of producing promotional video that is intended to strengthen and uplift our industry in major media nationwide.

The WEVA 16th Annual Wedding & Event Video Expo will officially open at 5:30 p.m. Monday, August 21, 2006 at Mandalay Bay and conclude by 5:00 p.m. Thursday, August 24, 2006. An all new slate of optional, pre-convention workshops will be held Monday afternoon starting at 12:30 p.m.
