Local Video Associations To Star In WEVA EXPO Competition

Sarasota, FL - Got wedding video? How would it look in a new 60-second commercial promoting our industry? What would be the ideal concept or style in a spot for nationwide broadcast?
This summer, YOU be the judge! WEVA EXPO 2006 (August 21st-24th) is inviting local videographers associations to compete in a brand new BATTLE OF THE VIDEOGRAPHERS! program in promotional support of professional wedding videography nationwide. The videos will be judged by the attendees at WEVA EXPO 2006.
“This exciting and fun EXPO program at Mandalay Bay will be interactive. Attendees can gain new skills in video concept development and learn innovative shooting & editing techniques, all towards the goal of producing promotional video that is intended to strengthen and uplift our industry in major media nationwide,” said John Zale, WEVA International’s Director of Educational Development.
“WEVA EXPO 2006 attendees will be the first to see all of the creative videos, first to examine all of the new and inspiring ideas in promoting professional wedding videography, and will also be the ones to judge each of the videos as they are screened. The local association winners will be announced during the program!”
In researching and developing the new competition category for this year’s EXPO, Zale said many of the independent local associations around the country were contacted. “Every group contacted was enthusiastic,” he said. They were very excited about the promotional opportunities and the industry-wide recognition. And, they were not unhappy to know that some very cool prizes would be awarded to the association winners, too!"
Premier Programming in a Top Location
Local association leaders nationwide have been excited about the WEVA 16th Annual Wedding & Event Video Expo from the time it was announced. “Many of our SPVA members who attended WEVA EXPO 2005 in Las Vegas were first time attendees and blown away by quality of the seminars, the huge trade show, and the phenomenal work presented during the event. Our members look forward to getting another inspirational and informational boost again this year by attending WEVA EXPO 2006 at Mandalay Bay,” said Mike Jensen, President of the Sacramento Professional Videographers Association.
"Mandalay Bay Resort is one of the top three resorts in all of Las Vegas. It's a perfect opportunity to mix a little business with a little pleasure. I plan on bringing the whole family to EXPO 2006,” said Bruce Garner, President of the Greater Philadelphia Videographers Association.

My business wouldn't be where it is today without all I've learned from attending WEVA EXPO,” said Keith Kelly, President of the Illinois Videographers Association.
“In truth, I'd probably attend WEVA EXPO even if it was under a tent in the desert. But having it back on The Strip, and at a great place like Mandalay Bay, will kick the energy up to a whole new level,” said Chuck Savadelis, President of the Bay Area Professional Videographers Association.
“With positive feedback and interest coming from a majority of local videographers associations we're seeing unifying support for a collaborative national effort that can help educate brides and the bridal media simultaneously," Zale said. “A team effort can really make a difference. We have seen that happen in just the past few months alone from the successful events conducted by local associations, including the SPVA, GPVA, and MPVA. Working together is definitely working to make a difference.”

How to Win a Free Party Suite
