Maxell Intros New Pro DV Cassettes
March 28, 2003
Las Vegas, NV - Maxell Corporation of America’s Professional Media Products Group is introducing Professional DV (DV-PRO), a line of videocassettes developed specifically for use in Mini DV and DV systems within the professional video and broadcast markets.
Integrating Maxell’s Multipuretron vapor-deposited film, DV-PRO enhances picture quality and durability in demanding ENG/EFP applications—including high-speed playback, editing and rewinding—while providing almost seven times the recording density of VHS tape, the manufacturer describes.
With the introduction of Multipuretron vapor-deposited film, DV-PRO has a higher output and significantly improved error rates than other DV tape. The vapor-deposited recording surface is protected by a diamond-like carbon lattice to maintain recording quality under various environments and repeated use. Further adding to the DV-PRO’s durability is a specially designed PP storage case that effectively resists dust, heat and shock.
The mini DV cassette, the DV-M63PRO, has 63 minutes of recording time and the standard size DV-186PRO provides 186 minutes. The MSRP for single DV 60s is $8.89; both sizes are available in five packs.
