Universal Focus Motor Kit from Microdolly Unveiled

Burbank, CA - icrodolly will introduce its new Universal Focus Motor Kit, designed to remotely adjust focus on a wide variety of zoom lenses, at NAB. It is a focus control for cameras mounted on jib arms, cranes or vehicles. The focus kit will mount on most lenses from 2" to 3/18" barrel diameters, the manufacturer announced.
A miniaturized motor and gear arrangement allows the Focus Motor to be mounted even if the lens has a times-two lens multiplier attached. The system is self-powered and does not require supplementary power from the camera source.
The focus motor and mount weight is eight ounces. The total weight of the battery case, control handle cables and motor is eight pounds. Most of that weight is the custom made metal case.
The system runs on a single 9V battery and does not require supplementary
power from the camera. In tests the battery would seem to last about a month
of average shooting days, the manufacturer described.
The Microdolly Universal Focus Motor Kit comes complete with a custom made metal reinforced hard case.
Shipping date is April 15. The retail price is $1,695.00, and includes the metal hard case, cables, battery case and control handle.
