Fast DV Tape Scans with TEPX Video Logging Software

Carmel, IN - Imagine Products has announced release of its newest version of TEPX (The Executive Producer) v10.3 video logging software, now with DV SCAN tape indexing.
DV Scan is a new clip detection feature. It is specific to FireWire logging and based on Date/Time information embedded in the video frame. Tapes may be scanned at Play or Fast Shuttle speeds.
DV Scan (Date/Time clip detection method) lets you:
-Auto-grab timecode and a thumbnail based on camera start/stops
-Type descriptions while DV Scanning continues
-Determine where timecode re-sets exist (breaks where IN > OUT)
With DV Scan, you can create a log file of all entries on a tape by letting the software sense their starting and ending points and grab a representative video frame (near the IN point). DV Scan uses the AUX data within DV frames to determine gaps between the camera's inserted time-of-day, the manufacture describes. Clips in a log file will represent camera start and stops, and are not based upon content changes from frame to frame.
Unlike other DV tape indexing software, TEPX does not require the creation of burdensome AVI or Quick Time files. Instead, DV Scan indexes a 60-minute tape in a single pass of about 5 minutes, directly controlling the DV deck. And the captured JPEGs are the same crisp, clean quality as play speed logging.
TEPX is a universal deluxe video logger for any video format. Create shot lists for any Non-Linear Editor (Final Cut Pro, Avid, Media100, etc). TEPX allows users to control and log from any video source, including FireWire (DV) and Betacam (RS422), as well as Sony and Panasonic PC-VCRs (RS232).
