Pinnacle Systems Unveils Edition 5

Mountain View, CA - Pinnacle Systems, Inc. will ship Pinnacle Edition 5, the latest version of the company's mid-range video editing and DVD-authoring software for professional videographers, educators, and advanced video hobbyists, this quarter, the company has announced.
New real-time accelerated graphics processor (AGP)-based 2D and 3D video effects dramatically improves productivity by allowing editors to process more video, graphic layers and effects in real time. Pinnacle Edition uses a scalable architecture designed to deliver improved performance in connection with future CPU or GPU upgrades. Editors can also author DVD right from the editing timeline, eliminating the time-consuming process of exporting and importing files to a separate authoring application. With Pinnacle Edition's powerful editing features, DVD authors now can create sophisticated menu structures, motion menus and motion buttons using the familiar editing tools of Pinnacle Edition.
Pinnacle Edition family includes:
·Pinnacle Edition - Integrated, real-time video editing and DVD authoring application with a Firewire card for digital input/output (I/O).
·Pinnacle Edition PRO - Integrated, real-time video editing and DVD authoring system with 2D/3D display adaptor and DV & analog I/O on a single AGP card.
Pricing and Availability
The Pinnacle Edition product family supports Windows 2000 and Windows XP Home and Professional.
In the U.S., Pinnacle Edition 5 and Pinnacle Edition PRO are expected to be available in Q2, 2003 at a suggested retail price of U.S. $699 and U.S. $999, respectively. Upgrade pricing will also be available for previous versions of Pinnacle Edition, Pinnacle Edition DV500, DV500, Pro-ONE and Pro-ONE RTDV, Studio and competitive products.
