FOR-A's New Variable Frame-rate Camera At NAB
February 20, 2003

Cypress, CA - FOR-A Corporation will showcase its new VFC-1000 Variable Frame-Rate Camera at this year's NAB convention. The camera shoots precise detail, fast motion and a number of other high-speed applications using any common laptop computer, the manufacturer reports.

An upgraded successor to FOR-A's VFC-300, the VFC-1000 captures images
between 50 to an optional 8,000 frames per second (FPS). It measures just
75(w) x 75 (h) x 176 (d) mm and weighs only 1 kg.

Features of the VFC-1000 include: up to 1/100,000 second high-speed electrical shutter, effective recording function by dividing the internal memory, camera control and picture transfer via LAN, and synchronized function for multiple camera use. An onboard recorder is contained in the camera head, and the VFC-1000 comes in black and white or color models and outputs composite signal, S-Video, and Ethernet.

The VFC-1000 is available for immediate delivery at a starting price of $12,500 for a 1000 fps B/W version.
