Panasonic To Unveil Notebook Edit System

Secaucus, NJ - Panasonic will unveil the AJ-DE10, an IEEE 1394-equipped laptop computer-based news editing system, at NAB 2003.
The AJ-DE10 consists of a specially configured Panasonic TOUGHBOOK laptop computer with news editing software developed from the successful newsBYTE news NLE system, the company describes.
Via its IEEE 1394 interface, 25Mbps DVCPRO and DV video can be quickly ingested, edited using the intuitive software, and then file transferred in the field or the studio. In the studio, the video can be transferred to an on-air server including Panasonic’s AJ-HDR150 SD/HD server.
AJ-DE10’s news-oriented software includes an easy-to-use “direct command” Graphics User Interface (GUI), Edit Decision List (EDL) and title generator.
Suggested list pricing and availability for the AJ-DE10 will be announced at NAB 2003.
