ADS Technologies Ships Pyro DV RaidRT

New York, NY - ADS Technologies, Inc. is now shipping PYRO DV RaidRT, its hardware-based FireWire RAID array enclosure designed for DV content designers.
PYRO DV RaidRT is a four-bay RAID enclosure that accommodates Ultra ATA 100 and 133 hard drives; these drives are converted to FireWire/IEEE 1394 using internal dual channel RAID controllers. The FireWire/IEEE 1394 storage solution utilizes an Intel i960 RM RISC Microprocessor and also includes 64 MB SDRAM for cache memory.
For a complete RAID solution, ADS Technologies’ network of online digital video distributors can either bundle or install the necessary hard drives. This flexible design allows users to customize their storage to meet their hard disc specifications. Once drives are installed, PYRO DV RaidRT supports RAID level 0, 1, 0+1, 3 or 5. Installed drives are hot swappable and one drive can also be used as a hot spare.
Pyro DV Raid will be available at an estimated street price of US$1599 without drives.
