San Jose, CA - Canopus Corporation has announced ADVC-500, a professional video converter designed for use in broadcast, postproduction and presentation applications.
Providing analog-to-DV and DV-to-analog conversion, ADVC-500 comes in a standard 19-inch breakout box configuration and features component video, composite, S-Video, and balanced and unbalanced audio input/output connections, the manufacturer describes.
The unit can be used with both Windows and Mac OS.
ADVC-500 also boasts fully programmable PC control software for adjusting analog input settings, such as brightness and contrast, and can operate as a stand-alone device not requiring a computer while keeping these preprogrammed settings.
The ADVC-500 features Canopus's proven DV codec technology, found in the full line of Canopus DV capture cards. On the audio front, the ADVC-500 supports locked audio when converting from analog to digital, for audio and video synchronization.
The ADVC-500 will be available mid-February 2003 for a suggested retail price of $1499.
