Winners in the WEVA 21st Annual Creative Excellence Awards Announced at WEVA EXPO 2011

Sarasota, FL. - WEVA International announced the winners of its 21st Annual Creative Excellence Awards Competition during WEVA EXPO 2011 LIVE Online Worldwide October 26-27. This year, winning entries were announced in over a dozen categories honoring outstanding creativity in professional wedding films and special event video productions worldwide. WEVA Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards are being presented to winners in each of the competition categories. Finalist Awards were also presented in several of this year’s categories at the discretion of the 2011 Competition Judges.
The 2011 Competition Categories included Corporate Production, Corporate Event Highlights, Social Event Highlights, Wedding Pre-Ceremony Production, Wedding Ceremony Coverage-Short Form, Wedding Highlights Production, Wedding Love Story, Concept Production, Social Event Production, Theatrical Production, Wedding Instant Edit, Photo Montage, Production, Wedding Demo Production, Short-Form Wedding Production, and Wedding Movie Trailer. The category of full-length Wedding Ceremony Coverage was deleted this year due to insufficient entries. Judging for the 2011 Competition was completed over a one-month period in a two-step process for preliminary and final round judging.
Bridal Consultants & EXPO Attendees Judge a Final Round
For the Category of Wedding Movie Trailer, Preliminary Judging was completed by the 2011 Panel of Judges with Final Round Judging completed online worldwide by Full-EXPO Conference attendees during WEVA EXPO 2011. Professional Bridal Consultants were also invited to judge online the entries in the Final Round of the Wedding Movie Trailer category. The surprise results, tabulated by InXpo, revealed scoring by the consultants matched the scoring by WEVA EXPO 2011 attendees.
The WEVA 2011 Panel of Judges was comprised of seasoned professionals, all of whom have earned WEVA MPV (Merited Professional Videographer) accreditation. Each competition judge on the 2011 Panel of Judges is being presented with the WEVA Distinguished Service Award honoring exemplary service on behalf of WEVA members and the industry at-large. This year’s Panel of Judges included Todd Gukelberger, MPV, Vintage Images LLC (CT), Michael Nelson, MPV, Remember When Films (UT), Paul Perhacs, MPV, Mystic Image Video, (OH) and Geoff Slawson, MPV, TGS Video Communications, (IL). The Panel was moderated by John Zale, WEVA’s Director of Educational Development along with assistant Moderators John McLean, McLean Video (IL) and Pat Kramford, Kramford Videography (IL).
