WEVA EXPO 2006 in Full Swing

Las Vegas, NV - WEVA EXPO 2006 got off to an exciting start with the Opening Night Gala where videographers learned about some new programs designed for WEVA members.
Roy Chapman announced the kickoff of Zoom, a program where videographers may licence popular music for their wedding and event productions. Dan Argenas provided more information about ImageSpan where videographers can upload footage for ad agencies.
Ken Kurita, Chair of the WEVA Special Awards Committee announced the 2006 inductees into the Wedding & Event Videography Hall of Fame: Eric Cosh, Mike Nelson, Mark & Trish Von Lanken and Al & Kathy Ritondo. The Ritondos also received the Walter Bennett Service to Industry Award. Randy Stubbs took home the Bob Le Bar Vision Award and Ron Jaghab was given the 911 Community Service Award. Kurita also announced the 2006 Ambassador Award recipients, and Dan Krieger presented the MPV (Merited Professional Videographer) accreditation recipients.
The WEVA EXPO Tradeshow was in full swing on Tuesday and Wednesday with equipment demos and deals plus hands-on training workshops right on the exhibit floor by such manufacturers as Avid, Apple, Adobe and Canopus.
