Belkin External Mike for iPod Has Aux Input
June 02, 2006
Compton, CA - With dual omnidirectional microphones, the new Belkin TuneTalk Stereo ($69.99) lets you record events, lectures, interviews or conversations in full stereo. Attach a lavaliere mike to the groom's lapel, and put the iPod in his pocket.
You can then review your CD-quality audio later by using your earbud headphones or computer. It will ship in North America in mid-June, with launches in Asia, Europe, and Australia to follow shortly.
In addition to TuneTalk Stereo's built-in microphones, it features an auxiliary 3.5mm stereo-input jack so you can record with an external microphone. It includes a stand the size of a credit card so you can position your iPod with video toward the source.
The stand's compact size lets you neatly tuck it into your shirt pocket or wallet. And, its extended dock connector allows you to keep your case on your iPod with video when you connect the TuneTalk Stereo to it.
"The capabilities of the iPod are plentiful, with voice recording as an emerging application," comments Gavin Downey, Director of Product Management - Mobility. "There's interest from both teachers and students for recording lectures in the classrooms. It's also being used to record podcasts, where now anybody -- amateurs and professionals alike -- can air their thoughts and commentary on any subject. And, in the perfect mesh of the classroom environment and the growing popularity of podcasts, teachers are recording lectures, condensing them, and replaying them in podcast format to spice up otherwise heavy content."
You can also copy recordings to your desktop or notebook computer for storage, editing, or to send via email. Your iPod with video's abundant storage capacity lets you store hundreds of hours of audio. No software to install -- support is already built into the iPod. The TuneTalk Stereo is available in both black and white colors.
Features
-- Adjustable Gain Control Switch provides instant control over recording quality in different environments.
-- Plastic Spacer provides additional stability when the iPod with video is not in a case.
