Nokia Upgrades Internet Tablet for VoIP and Bluetooth

Stockholm, Sweden - Reuters News Service today reported that mobile phone maker Nokia released OS 2006, upgraded software for the Nokia 770 Internet Tablet, released last year. The 770 Internet Tablet also provides wireless access to digital video and music on short-range wireless networks. The new version will run Google Talk communications software to enable users of instant messaging software to chat via the Nokia Wi-Fi device. It will be offered as a free download from Nokia.
According to Nokia, “With the Nokia 770 Internet Tablet you can browse your favorite sites and catch up on your email - from right where you are. Whether you're relaxing on the sofa or enjoying the moment at your favorite café, if you have broadband access over WI-FI the Nokia 770 Internet Tablet gives you instant wireless access to the Web. You can also stream files, tune in to Internet radio, News Reader, or play your favorite videos and music.”
The Nokia 770 Internet Tablet is easy to use, and easy on your eyes too, with a truly portable design, fashionably discrete brushed metal cover, and an ultra sharp widescreen display that's optimized for viewing online content.”
The new software version has a full-screen keyboard or recognizes handwriting. It also lets users talk via VoIP networks, and it can connect to the Internet using Bluetooth technology.
The small tablet has a 4.13” widescreen display with zoom. The OS 2006 edition is based on Linus and Open Source technologies.
