DV Caddie Intros Two New Shoulder Supports
April 21, 2006
- DV Caddie has introduced two new offerings for the spring of 2006. The DVCA-SR2 is the latest in their line of shoulder rests and features a unique split support that conforms naturally to the slope of the user's shoulder. It can be configured with dual handles for maximum control or with the right side handle removed for unrestricted access to the camera's own handle. The total weight of the SR2 is less than two pounds. Suggested retail price is $154.
Sleek and Unique
The Caddie Shoulder Rest is full of big advantages in a small package. Due to it’s streamline, lightweight design it weighs under two pounds. The bifurcated (slit in two) rear support is designed to contour to the curve of your shoulder for maximum comfort. The handles give the operator more control over the side to side tilt of the camera making in much easier to stabilize.
For those that want to continue to have their hand on the camera’s built in grip and zoom controls, the Shoulder Rest 2 can be configured in a left handle only mode. This leaves easy access to the cameras handle with your right hand and a padded grip for your left.
You can also add some weight to help balance the load of the camera with the Shoulder Rest Counterweight. This kit, sold separately, allows you to attach a soft, two pound counter balance to the rear of your shoulder support.
The DVCA-CK1 combines the new DVCA-SR2 shoulder rest with the DVCA-JR1 stabilizer. The two working together effectively distribute the weight of the camera equally between both the right and left shoulder reducing fatigue. The contact points on the hip and shoulder provide increased stability while the handles allow greater control. Suggested retail price is $272
Shoot it Your Way
Different situations call for different shooting methods. The Caddie Combo Kit give you options. Use the DV Caddie Junior alone for support, the Caddie Shoulder Rest 2 for comfort and control or combine them and get the best of both worlds.
The Joy of Triangulation
One of the best and simplest ways to increase stability is to "triangulate" or connect three points that are not in line with each other, which is what you do when you combine your Caddie Junior with your Caddie Shoulder Rest 2. More points of contact with the body is also a way to gain further control over the camera and thus make it easier to steady.
Adaptable Attachment
All Caddie products now come with removable anti-rotation pins to assure that they will work with all the cameras and accessories now available on the market.
