TV One Releases Standards Converter With Motion Compensation
April 06, 2006
Erlanger, KY - TV One has created the PX-720, ($1,500) a professional standards converter that tackles PAL, SECAM and NTSC broadcast television standards that was developed to provide improved and stable performance, as well as a high quality, properly formatted signal.
One of the key features of the new PX-720 is its automatic ability to detect PAL, SECAM and NTSC broadcast television standards. Motion compensation is also provided as an aid to improving the conversion process, while an integral Time Base Corrector (TBC) with full synchronization allows the unit to be genlocked to a composite video source. The TBC is active even in the bypass mode.
The performance of the PX-720 is achieved by using digital conversion and digital comb filtering in the decoding process. Internal 10-bit accurate A/D and D/A conversion circuitry is employed for true 8-bit resolution.
An automatic gain circuit was designed to insure that the proper video output level of 1V p-p is maintained, even when the input signal varies between 0.5V and 2.0V p-p. The unit has two composite and one S-Video input. Processing controls are provided for luminance, chrominance, setup, and hue (NTSC).
The PX-720 comes equipped with a C-Video cable, an AC power adapter available in US, UK, or Euro type, and has a two-year parts and labor limited warranty. There is also an optional dual-rackmount available.
