Datavideo Announces DVK-100 Chroma Keyer
March 28, 2006
Whittier, CA - Datavideo announced a new two camera and one background input chroma keyr model DVK-100 ($1200). Designed for educational, business and religious producers the DVK-100 simplifies a complicated process and is designed to delivers very good results even with a simple lighting setup.
The DVK-100 accepts Y/C (S-Video) and composite video. For best results Datavideo recommends S-Video. For users with DV cameras, the DAC-100 converter($199) will convert DV to S-Video.
DV compresses and combines color and luminance information into small data packages for convenient transmission and storage. Decompressing for a chromakey adds cost without quality. A component video like "S Video" is better for chromakey.
Features
- Two Camera Inputs and One Background Input: With two camera inputs you can seamlessly cut between a full shot and a close up while you keep the background. This can make your video more beliveable. Includes a GPI trigger to switch between sources. The video signal loops through the DVK-100 so you can monitor each camera before cuting between them.
- Selectable Background Colors: Uses standard blue, green or black backgrounds or special ones with retro reflective screens and LED rings around the lens.
- Edge Halo Shrink Function: Built in edge halo shrink function was developed to reduce white or black color edge on subject.
