Videographer Entry Forms for WEVA/Modern Bride Contest Coming Soon!

Sarasota, FL - Did you attend WEVA EXPO 2005? The Wedding & Event Videographers Association International and Modern Bride Connection invite you to compete for the chance to be selected as one of the official videographers to create a custom-produced Photo Montage Video in the WEVA/Modern Bride nationwide co-promotion “Win A Wedding Photo Montage Video.”
The competition is open to all WEVA International members who attended WEVA EXPO 2005 (WEVA EXPO 2006 will be held in August). Brides are already entering the all-new contest through the Modern Bride website.
The “Win A Wedding Photo Montage Video” co-promotion, which opened in November by asking brides, “Was the Day You Met Your Fiance the Stuff of Great Movies?” (Click Here!) is a nationwide contest prospective brides are now entering through Modern Bride’s 17 regional issues and online media, such as the Modern Bride-New York Metro (Click Here!) section of the Modern Bride website (scroll down to see the contest's "Enter to Win" link).
The contest will feature two winning bridal couples who will be chosen in 2006, from essay submissions, to receive a fully-edited, network-quality Photo Montage Video on DVD produced by members of the Wedding & Event Videographers Association Interrnational.
Applying creative visual artistry, the Photo Montage Video will feature a compilation of the prospective bride and groom’s chosen photos tracing their life history and personal relationship as a couple.
The winning couples, the winning WEVA members and the special Photo Montage Video production will be featured nationally in Modern Bride Connection, and on the Modern Bride website. The Fairchild Bridal Group, including Modern Bride Connection with its 17 regional publications in the country’s top markets, has a total distribution of 1.6 million nationwide.
The WEVA competition judges (all professional videographers and members of WEVA) will select two winners (and runners-up) in February 2006. The two winning videographers will each create a custom-produced Photo Montage Video. One video will be produced for a couple in the spring. Another video will be produced in the summer for the other winning couple selected by the magazine's editorial staff.
This promotion carries with it national exposure for the professional videographers and for the entire WEVA International membership. The co-promotion, the selected bridal couples, and the WEVA videographers will be featured in both print and online media, with a link for all Modern Bride Connection readers and website visitors to view portions of the winning videos!
The official deadline for all entries to be received by WEVA International is January 16, 2006. Unlike other WEVA competitions, a specially-produced montage video will be acceptable for entry, along with prior-produced montage videos. However, should you be selected to produce the Modern Bride video, this same winning style (as close as possible) must be used for the production.

WEVA’s new and creative co-promotion, timed to coincide with the start of the 2006 bridal season, is intended to open the door for the association’s message to impact brides on a personal and entertaining level.

“Photo Montage Videos, which are often projected at wedding receptions, have become increasingly popular across the country. And, as seen by the winning video entries in the WEVA Creative Excellence Competition Awards every year, and at WEVA EXPO’s annual BATTLE OF THE VIDEOGRAPHERS! series, our members have taken Photo Montage Videos to breathtaking levels of artistry and emotional impact," Argenas said.
"We are very excited that this special stand-alone production, which has evolved into a unique category all its own, was selected to kick off the first WEVA/Fairchild co-promotion in ‘prime-time’ this season. A key reason WEVA holds its annual EXPO in the summer is to enable our members to be best prepared for the biggest period of wedding announcements, which traditionally begins over the Christmas holidays. The launch of the co-promotion was positioned to coincide with the start of the new wedding season,” said Argenas.
