InterVideo, Ulead HD DVD Authoring & Playback
December 13, 2005
Tokyo, JP - InterVideo, Inc. and its partner Ulead Systems, Inc. demonstrated VC1 decoding and content navigation from an HD DVD sample drive and disc provided by NEC at the HD DVD Promotion Group Seminar.
During the seminar presentation company officials demonstrated the performance of InterVideo's WinDVD HD interactive content playback as well as new features and capabilities for Ulead's DVD MovieFactory content authoring and production software. HD DVDPG attendees were shown examples of how the products could be incorporated into barebone systems, TV tuners and bundled with notebook computers to deliver rich interactive high-definition video content production and playback.
During the seminar, Steve Ro, CEO and president of InterVideo noted that the companies were already working closely with a number of leading system and solution manufacturers to ensure their systems could take advantage of the interactive high-definition features that would be available to consumers when HD DVD products are introduced early next year. "The HD DVD format offers significant opportunities for content developers to deliver very rich, interactive audio/video materials in the coming years," Ro commented. "InterVideo and Ulead development teams have made major contributions in the editing, authoring, post-production and content protection areas. In addition, we have refined a high-speed decoding process as well as superior content navigation capabilities that will enhance the end user's digital entertainment experience. Interactive HD DVD is a whole new level of audio/video enjoyment."
Designed to maximize the high-definition experience, InterVideo says that WinDVD HD can be used to navigate and play back the interactive content on HD DVD discs. Ulead's DVD MovieFactory software enables users to carry out the complete post-production movie process including editing, authoring, burning, backup and if desired content protection. The two products will be released to the market to coincide with the release of HD DVD content and systems.
