Learn After Effects for Cutting-Edge Montages Nov. 29

Creative After Effects techniques used to produce high-end photo montages have been taught at WEVA EXPO for the past several years, giving attendees a competitive edge both creatively and financially.
With the new bridal season just around the corner, the time to get up to speed on After Effects techniques is now. You can attend WEVA Institute’s all-day workshop on "After Effects Techniques for Cutting-Edge Montages" Tuesday, November 29 in the Boston metro area at the Holiday Inn-Boston/Deadham (781-329-1000). The hotel is offering a guest room rate of $89/night for WEVA attendees).
This all-day professional development workshop is all hands-on! If you don’t have a laptop, don’t worry, laptops (and lunch) are supplied. But seating is limited.
Taught by multi-year WEVA Creative Excellence Award-winner and WEVA EXPO featured speaker, Javier Villarreal, this full-day workshop for beginning and intermediate users will show you how to apply animation, motion, and special effects to your stills and video quickly and easily.
Here’s an overview of the schedule for the day:
Morning Session (9:30am-12:30pm)
• Overview of After Effects and how to get started
• Using After Effects to create a Photo Montage
• How to animate layers
• How to animate effects
• Turn photos into 3D by manipulating layers and adding camera moves.
Lunch Break (12:30pm-1:15pm)
Workshop includes a box lunch
Early Afternoon session (1:15pm-3:15pm)
• Learn to create custom backgrounds using lights and shadows.
• Learn to create backgrounds to use for any project.
Late Afternoon (3:30pm-5:30pm)
• Learn how to use plug-ins (both those supplied with After Effects and 3rd Party) to create exciting effects for both videos and montages.
• Tips and Techniques to spice up any video. Glass effect (CSI:Miami); 3D Write-On effect, Complex masks, Photo Mosaic, etc.
Other techniques will be added as time permits. Follow along with Javier as you perform each technique and create each layer and each effect for yourself. The small class size allows for ample interaction and personal instruction.
