TMPG Announces DVD AUTHOR PRO

Gardena, CA - TMPG, Inc. introduced today its newest and most advanced application for digital video creation: TSUNAMI MPEG DVD AUTHOR PRO ($99.95). Building on the strengths of DVD AUTHOR, this new software was developed to bring advanced features and flexibility to DVD creation.
Emphasizing ease-of-use for casual and professional users alike, TMPG’s DVD AUTHOR PRO will be available in stores across North America and online beginning at the end of September.
According to TMPG, this is the first DVD creation program in its class to offer Fit-to-Disc transcoding and DVD–R Dual Layer support. DVD AUTHOR PRO is designed to make it easy to fit content on to one disc while maintaining video quality. The company adds that DVD AUTHOR PRO is also the first to offer multichannel audio for multi-lingual DVDs, and audio filters so that users can ensure optimal audio quality before burning to DVD.
The new TSUNAMI MPEG DVD AUTHOR PRO incorporates advanced tools like frame-level cut-editing, slideshow creation with Dolby® Digital sound, high-quality DVD menu templates-—forty of them, developed by Motionsim—-and DVD simulation so that users can preview their DVD at any point during the authoring process. The layout guides users through the steps of creating a high quality DVD—-from importing video and audio to chapter creation and more. DVD AUTHOR PRO was designed to provide comprehensive support for multiple audio and video formats.
TSUNAMI MPEG’s DVD AUTHOR PRO can import video clips from MPEG-1, MPEG-2, DVD Video or DVD-VR files; add audio from MPEG-1 Layer 2, Dolby Digital (AC-3) or Linear PCM (.wav/LPCM); and edit materials already recorded on a DVD Recorder. TMPG says that DVD AUTHOR PRO is one of the first DVD creation programs to support DVD+ and –R dual layer media, so users can create DVDs that hold up to 8.5GB of content on a single disc. Finally, according to the company, unlike DVDs made with competing DVD creation products, DVD AUTHOR PRO ensures that the DVDs that users create with it will play on nearly all home DVD players.
TSUNAMI MPEG DVD AUTHOR PRO wil be available beginning in late September 2005 at retail stores across North America at an MSRP of $99.95. Boxed versions of DVD AUTHOR PRO include a free 90-day trial version of Video Encoder XPress.
