Disc Makers DualDisc--CD & DVD on One Disc
August 24, 2005
Pennsauken, NJ - Disc Makers announced it will offer the DualDisc format to its replication customers. The DualDisc will now be an available option for every Disc Makers’ disc packaging format. Disc Makers says they are the first independent media manufacturer to offer DualDisc format
DualDisc technology combines CD and DVD content onto one double-sided disc, with CD content on one side and DVD content on the other. It allows artists to include exclusive video clips, photo galleries, audiophile sound formats, and computer-ready multimedia along with the album’s audio tracks onto a single double-sided disc that plays in most CD and DVD players.
“DualDisc will allow our customers to turn their new release into a cutting-edge, retail-savvy product that is an exciting purchase for their fan base,” explains Tony van Veen, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Disc Makers. “This product continues Disc Makers’ tradition of helping every independent artist promote and sell themselves like a major label artist.”
To submit a project for DualDisc formatting, artists need only to submit their CD and DVD masters, along with artwork, and Disc Makers will do the rest. As part of the DualDisc package, Disc Makers includes a free 3.5” x 3.5” educational card insert to inform customers about the advantages and limitations of the DualDisc format. And, for just 10˘ per disc, Disc Makers will add a DualDisc sticker to each package.
Pricing and a list of limitations and potential issues is available at their website.
