JVC Shows New HDV Camcorder at WEVA EXPO

Las Vegas, NV - JVC is using the WEVA 15th Annual Wedding & Event Video Expo Trade Show to showcase a prototype of their new JVC GY-HD100U camcorder, giving professional wedding and event videographers an opportuntity to go "hands-on" with the new unit and get questions answered directly from the manufacturer.
With September as a planned shipping date, and carrying a $6,295 list price, the HD100U camcorder records in 720p and comes with a removable, Fujinon 16x PROHD manual zoom lens. A wide-angle zoom is offered as an option.
The GY-HD100U offers high-definition progressive recording at 24 frames per second, with the dual media option of recording to hard disk and MiniDV tape simultaneously.
The GY-HD100U also features, three 1/3-inch CCDs (1280 x 720 square pixels), two XLR audio inputs, and live 720/60P analog component output.
JVC also showed a DVD Data Player, the SR DVD100 PROHD ($399) that is designed to play HD DVD on an HD display. Users record data onto a DVD or onto a jump drive for playback on the Data Player. Early September is the delivery target, according to JVC.
