Microboards Second Generation CopyWriter Live
July 25, 2005
Chanhassen, MN - Microboards Technology announced that the second generation of its CopyWriter Live recorder/duplicator will ship this month. The product has a list price of $699.
The CopyWriter Live is an addition to Microboards line of CD/DVD Duplicators and Printers. CopyWriter Live was designed to give event videographers and other organizations the ability to record events with VCR-like ease.
New and Improved
John Westrum, Microboards' Chief Technology Officer, pointed out that
the second generation means new benefits to users. "We have been able
to take our specifications and what we learned with the first
CopyWriter Live to our traditional partners and make an even better
product. We are sure that users will be pleased with what they see."
The new CopyWriter Live includes level monitoring and a headphone jack,
and, according to the company, has a more robust design and higher quality disc recorders.
"Because of our track record with this product, we were able to make quantity
commitments with suppliers that have benefited us in the economies of
scale" said Westrum.
Back by Popular Demand
Microboards reports that the original CopyWriter Live was a highly demanded unit whose sudden unavailability came as a surprise to users and resellers around the world. "CopyWriter Live had certain capabilities that had never before been available, and have never been available since" said Michael Salley, President of Tennessee-based Wholesale Tape & Supply(WTS).
"We found it to be the perfect solution when we were talking to churches and schools that needed ease of use when recording to CD. Not only will it allow spanning across multiple discs, but it also offers high-speed copying capability with the push of a button"
Still Ahead of Its Time
Despite the gap in production, Microboards says that the CopyWriter Live still offers abilities that are advanced beyond any other event recorder on the market. "We are frankly surprised that no manufacturer attempted to imitate Microboards'success with certain features," said WTS' Salley. "We watched and waited for someone to produce a replacement, yet no one stepped forward."
One of its popular features is the ability to seamlessly record live audio for longer than the typical 70-80 minutes by automatically spanning from disc to disc. "You can record to either of the onboard recorders, or play back, or play from one and record to the other" said Westrum. "It has all of the logistical functionality of a dual cassette deck - but with CD-Rs instead."
When asked what the CopyWriter Live's reintroduction meant to the market, Westrum responded that "CopyWriter Live gives churches, schools, and event specialists what they need to focus on their job instead of worrying about equipment so much. The idea is to make your job easier, not more difficult."
The CopyWriter Live will have a one-year warranty and will begin shipping July 15th.
