Dell Introduces Its First Sub-2.5-Pound Projector
June 09, 2005
Las Vegas, NV - Dell yesterday at Infocomm introduced their lightest projector yet, the model 3400MP, weighing just 2.40 pounds.
Designed to provide mobile professionals a truly portable presentation tool without sacrificing performance, Dell says the 3400MP is currently the only projector in its category to be offered for less than $1,400. The latest model in Dell's line-up also gives customers the flexibility to present in a variety of locations around the room. Three adjustable feet allow for variations in height and help provide increased stability when the projector sits on uneven surfaces. The 3400MP projector, priced at $1,399, comes equipped with automatic vertical keystone correction technology; ensuring images are always perfectly rectangular, even when the projector is not directly in front of a screen.
"Road warriors are demanding presentation tools that are light and easy to carry, but don't have heavy price-tags," said Gerry Smith, vice president of Dell Displays. "Dell has responded by delivering the 3400MP Projector, which offers the ultimate balance of performance and portability at a breakthrough price."
According to Dell, the 3400MP Projector uses the latest generation of Digital Light Processing (DLP)(TM) technology to create high brightness and clarity from a device that weighs less than 2.5 pounds. It projects native XGA resolution (1024 x 768) and is designed to automatically adjust to accommodate the resolution of the source device. The company said that the 3400MP features a brightness of 1,500 ANSI lumens and has a contrast ratio of 2100:1. An Audio Out port allows users to connect external speakers to the projector for enhanced sound clarity.
According to the manufacturer, users have complete access to the projector around the room with the full-function remote control. The projector also ships with cables (S-Video, composite video, RCA audio, M1 to D-Sub/USB and audio cable) and a fitted, drop-tested carrying case.
Additional features of the 3400MP include:
