June 08, 2005
Whittier, CA - Datavideo introduced the SE-500, designed as a rugged, low-cost analog video switcher priced at $999 MSRP. Aimed at the event, educational, corporate and small studio market, the SE-500 features include: four video inputs (each one is S-Video or Composite), one Aux audio and 2 microphone inputs, Chroma adjustment, digital video transitions including Split, Wipe, Fade, Dissolve and Picture-In-Picture and RS-232 control.
According to Datavideo, the SE-500 is an ultimate price/performance device where full resolution 4:2:2 video technology guarantees affordable productions with high quality.
One unique feature is what the manufacturer calls the smart Quad Split Preview that includes red, yellow and green markers to indicate the program, preview and other sources as well as an indication of the next selected effect.
And, there is also a button that will cause the preview display to show the next selected effect. This means the operator can use one monitor to observe all four video inputs, and verify the next selected video effect before it is broadcast live.
