Aeon Digital Announces Breakthrough DVR

Yokohama, Japan - Aeon Digital International (ADI) has unveiled its new DV-280 Digital Video Recorder ($299), ushering in a new era of IPTV Without Borders(TM). Connected to a TV and a high-speed Internet line, the DV-280 can:
-- Record up to 200 hours of TV shows. Burn up to 30 hours of video to a single recordable DVD.
-- Play PC digital media -- digital photos, MP3 music and digital video -- directly from a PC to a TV set.
-- Instantly rent top movies with DVD quality with full Pause/Fast Forward/Rewind functionality.
-- Listen to hundreds of Internet radio stations.
-- Download music from the Internet.
To provide Internet-based TV services (IPTV), ADI will deploy the Aeon Digital Network. This network is available to any DV-280 customer with a high-speed Internet connection. ADI says, until now, IPTV services such as high-quality video-on-demand have been available only from cable, satellite or telephone service providers.
Aeon Digital Network is deployed on the Internet. Anyone with a high-speed Internet connection can access this service. The DV-280 DVR will be available at retail stores in early September and will be carried under select OEM brand names.
