May 18, 2005
Wayne, NJ - JVC Professional Products Company announced today that it received an NAB Award for Innovation in Media (AIM) at NAB 2005. As one of five companies receiving the highest number of attendee votes in the Content Creation category, JVC received AIM recognition for its GY-HD100U 3-CCD HD camera recorder at the NAB Technology Luncheon held at the Las Vegas Convention Center on Wednesday, April 20.
"As the professionals using broadcasting technologies day in and day out, NAB attendees are in a unique position to recognize the hottest products emerging into the marketplace. The NAB would like to extend its congratulations to all of the 2005 AIM winners who received this esteemed recognition," said NAB President and CEO Edward O. Fritts.
The top five products within each of the Content Creation, Content Management and Content Delivery categories received recognition with a 2005 AIM. "The GY-HD100U is an important step in the industry-wide transition to HD,” said Dave Walton, general manager corporate communications at JVC. “The centerpiece in our ProHD line-up, this camera shows our continued dedication to offer cost-effective production tools that open the doors to affordable and practical HD,” he said.
The GY-HD100U is a full resolution HD progressive camera recorder whose outstanding performance is exceptional in its price range. It produces film-like quality, high-definition recordings, bringing digital cinematography capabilities within practical reach of a wide market segment.
The unit’s true 24p capability enables recordings to be transferred to 16mm or 35mm film with full HD fidelity, without frame rate conversion. “This camera delivers spectacular quality SD recordings for professionals shooting in either SD or HD,” said Walton. “We're honored that the NAB attendees and industry experts have recognized the GY-HD100."
