Memorex Announces Scratch-Resistant Coating Added to Dual-Layer Mini DVD Media

Cerritos, CA - Memorex announced that its DuraLayer(TM)scratch-resistant hard-coating technology will be added to the company's full line of compact Mini DVD-R and Mini DVD-RW discs. The coated discs, specially designed for use with direct-to-DVD camcorders, are said to be ideal for amateur and professional videographers who require media that is especially resistant to the rough handling that can occur during on-the-go recording and frequent disc swapping.
Memorex has added this protective bottom layer hard-coat to its entire line of Mini DVD products as a defense against the scratches, handling and dust particles that can physically damage recordable media. DuraLayer scratch-resistant technology is designed to protect discs from this type of physical damage so that consumers can feel confident that their treasured videos and photos are safe for years to come.

Memorex's rewritable Mini DVD-RW and write-once Mini DVD-R recordable discs are made for direct-to-DVD camcorders such as the Sony Handycam(R), but also are designed to work in most DVD burners and players. The eight-centimeter discs can record 1.4 gigabytes of data or up to 60 minutes of video. They provide a compact storage method for multimedia presentations, videos, MP3 files and other data.
Pricing and Availability
Beginning in May, Memorex Mini DVD products with DuraLayer technology will be available in stores nationwide in convenient hang-tab blister packages of three DVD-RW discs with mini jewel cases or five DVD-R discs with mini jewel cases. Suggested retail pricing for each pack configuration is $17.99.
