New Telestream Media Workflow Solutions
April 28, 2005
Nevada City, CA - A new family of Telestream Flip4Mac tools, enabling Macintosh OS X users to make, edit, and play Windows Media from within QuickTime-based media applications, is now available. Telestream’s Flip4Mac products bridge gaps between the Apple Macintosh platform and Microsoft Windows Media format.
Until now, viewing Windows Media files on a Mac required downloading a separate player, importing Windows Media for editing was not possible, and until the recent introduction of the Flip4Mac WMV Export Component, making Windows Media 9 files was challenging.
Telestream’s Flip4Mac WMV Player simplifies and improves the playback experience and expands viewing choices for Mac users. The new Flip4Mac WMV Player Pro adds the ability for Mac users to import Windows Media files for editing in QuickTime apps, including Final Cut Pro HD, Final Cut Express HD, QuickTime Pro and iMovie. Windows Media files can also be converted to other formats; WMV Player and Player Pro support Windows Media 7, 8, and 9.
The Flip4Mac WMV Studio solutions combine the WMV Player Pro and either standard or high definition export capabilities. Telestream also announced a free upgrade for all WMV Export customers to the new WMV Studio offerings.
Sorenson Media also announced selection of Flip4Mac digital media tools for the Macintosh to provide optional Windows Media encoding and import support for the new Sorenson Squeeze 4.1 Compression Suite Macintosh version.
Flip4Mac WMV Studio and WMV Studio Pro from Telestream provide optional plug-in components for Sorenson Squeeze 4.1, providing Windows Media import, playback and either standard or high definition encoding for Macintosh users. Until now, viewing Windows Media files on a Mac required downloading a separate player, importing Windows Media for editing was not possible, and until the recent introduction of the Flip4Mac WMV Export Component, making Windows Media 9 files was challenging.
The new Flip4Mac family includes:
* WMV Player ($9.99 introductory price; prices in USD) – to play Windows Media in the QuickTime Player
* WMV Player Pro ($49) – to edit, convert, and play Windows Media on a Mac
* WMV Studio ($99) – to make, edit, and play standard definition Windows Media on a Mac
