New HDV to HD-SDI Interface from Miranda
April 19, 2005
Montreal, QC - Miranda Technologies launched its new HD-Bridge Dec HDV to HD-SDI decoder, which enables inexpensive, high-quality HDV cameras to operate with HD-SDI editing systems and HD-SDI plant infrastructures, and as well as its new ASI-Bridge, a camera-mounted HDV to ASI converter, which offers more direct transmission of HDV footage and easy on-set recording using D-VHS.
The HD-Bridge Dec addresses multiple key HDV interfacing tasks required for the successful adoption of this format, the manufacturer reports. Post-production monitoring in the editing suite will also demand conversion of HDV to digital, analog, HD, and audio. Another core requirement is converting compressed HDV captured on-set into uncompressed HD-SDI so it can be edited with HD-SDI systems for lossless content creation.
The ASI-Bridge interface accepts HDV via an iLink connection and converts it to standard MPEG-2/ASI format. The ASI-Bridge can be used to convert HDV directly to ASI without a costly HD MPEG-2 encoder, and for direct MPEG-2 recording using D-VHS.
The compact interface mounts discretely between an HDV camcorder and a tripod, and accepts power from the camera battery or from a dedicated in-line power supply.
