Canopus Announces New Features for EDIUS Pro 3

San Jose, CA - Canopus announced an update to EDIUS Pro 3 professional nonlinear editing software and new Format Support Modules that let editors customize EDIUS editing solutions with formats specific to their studio set-up.
The update to EDIUS Pro 3 includes new professional features, the company describes, such as HQ batch capture from HDV, advanced audio tools and precise color correction controls, designed to help editors create the highest quality productions. Canopus will be demonstrating EDIUS Pro 3.3 and the Format Support Modules next week in Las Vegas at NAB 2005.
The EDIUS Pro 3.3 update gives editors audio mixer support that allows for audio adjustments during playback directly in the timeline, as well as audio fader hardware support. Canopus also added usability enhancements, such as a Tape Export Wizard to assist in tape output to various recording devices, and improved bin management with an export-to-HTML feature that lets editors print and share clip lists. EDIUS Pro 3.3 also gives editors realtime HQ batch capture capabilities from Sony HDV camcorders. EDIUS NX and EDIUS SP users also gain direct-to-MPEG capture from DV and analog sources. The EDIUS Pro 3.3 update is available at no charge to registered EDIUS Pro 3 users directly from the Canopus Web site.
New Format Support Modules
Canopus's new Format Support Modules include MXF (Material eXchange Format) support to let video professionals in broadcast and studio environments customize EDIUS editing solutions to their specific studio set-up. Format Support Modules are will be available for the following formats: Sony XDCAM (DVCAM mode), Panasonic P2 and Panosonic VariCam. Format Support Modules will be available starting the third quarter of 2005.
