Vela Introduces New High-Definition Decoder

Clearwater, FL - Vela will introduce its new broadcast quality CineView HD Pro decoder at NAB 2005; shipments are expected in the second quarter.
The new CineView HD Pro includes features to ease the migration to high definition, such as the ability to up-convert standard-definition materials to a high definition format. Existing HD content can be down-converted to the standard definition format.
The CineView HD Pro alos has the capability to frame-accurately combine SD and HD file output by simply switching the asset format through an A/B switch at any time. Broadcasters can use the device to simulcast SD and HD format video via SDI, therefore concurrently satisfying requirements for both SD and HD programming with one decoder.
The full-featured CineView HD Pro decoder includes genlock, SDI output, frame buffering, support for frame accurate trick modes, LTC input/output, enhanced graphics and on-screen-display (OSD) support, 16 channels of audio per board and many more features. This powerful HD/SD decoder has playback of 4:2:0 HD and 4:2:2/4:2:0 SD MPEG profiles with PAL and NTSC support standard. Optional features available are DV-25 support, DVB/ASI input and VDCP machine control.
Also included with the CineView HD Pro is Vela’s easy-to-use PlayAdvantage software GUI, a comprehensive set of video management tools enabling effortless decoding. For operators preferring to build their own custom application, a powerful Software Developer’s Kit (SDK) is available with sample MPEG clips, thorough API documentation and a modifiable sample player application.
The anticipated list price for the CineView HD Pro decoder is $3,295.00.
