DV Editing Systems Shift to Mid-Range
March 14, 2005
Mill Valley, CA - The number of companies planning to purchase mid-range digital video editing systems has grown by 11% in the past year, and by 16% since 2002, according to a new report from TrendWatch Reports, an industry analysis and research company.
In the TrendWatch Visual Effects/Dynamic Media Report - Issue #5, Summer 2004, analysts state, in part, that "[a]s desktop editing systems have improved in their processing capability and video editing software has become more powerful, we’re seeing more studios investing in mid range systems. Many are buying HD editing capability now offered at what many consider to be very affordable pricing. This has been great news for independent filmmakers and production companies alike as they handle more of their own editing tasks. The number of studios planning to buy high-end systems has declined slightly over the past three years to just over 10%."
