New LCD Monitors for Video Professionals
March 02, 2005
Houston, TX - ikan Corporation has introduced LCD monitors for the video production and AV markets, ranging in sizes from 2.5 up to nine inches All monitors feature antiglare TFT displays with wide viewing angles, the company describes.
The V2500 (pictured) is the smallest and most versatile of the line. It features both audio and video connections along with a built in stand for tabletop use. For a larger viewing area The V3000 is available and includes an integrated screen cover and stand.
With the increasing number of cameras supporting 16 x 9, a monitor with widescreen capabilities is necessary. The V7000 with a seven- inch viewing area is perfect for mounting onto cameras for field or studio use. The V9000 features an extra large nine-inch viewing area and is great for extended viewing distances or for larger group viewing. Both monitors feature horizontal and vertical display flipping to accommodate any mounting position, a single connector disconnect for easy setups and strikes, switchable aspect ratio for 16 x 9 and 4 x 3. The monitors are compatible with NTSC or PAL.
The VT8000 shares many of the features of the VT7000 and VT9000 but its eight-inch screen features a native 1024 x 768 XGA/VGA resolution. Its low power consumption, small profile and versatile mounting hardware make it perfect for tight locations such as a news van or overcrowded control room. In addition to its VGA connection it also has connections for S-video and composite video along with stereo audio so it can also be used to monitor video. The VT8000 can be mounted to a camera hotshoe for a simple field teleprompter or used as a second monitor for editing with a laptop.
