Leitch Drops Price for VelocityQ
January 28, 2005

Toronto, ON - Leitch Technology has reduced pricing on all its VelocityQ nonlinear editing systems.

VelocityQ is available as fully integrated, "ready to run" turnkey solutions, or as boardset-and-software bundles for installation into a Windows 2000 or Windows XP workstation.

VelocityQ combines the Quattrus multi-stream, real-time hardware with the powerful, flexible and intuitive Velocity software, forming a tightly integrated, multi-layer NLE solution.  VelocityQ delivers an exceptional combination of real-time power, quality and affordability, featuring real-time, full-quality playback of four streams of compressed or uncompressed video, up to six graphics streams, and optionally two or four channels of 3D DVE.

VelocityQ harnesses this power into an intuitive, flexible and customizable interface that makes even the most complex editing tasks easy. The comprehensive feature set includes integrated, full-quality multi-camera editing; 3- and 4-point editing; real-time filters such as color correction and speed changes; hundreds of customizable real-time transitions; timeline integration with eyeon's included Digital Fusion DFX+) compositing software; OMF and AAF interoperability; and the unique EyeCon View(tm) timeline interface tool. The powerful Virtual Tape File System also makes VelocityQ ideal as a digital disk recorder or graphics output platform.

Leitch Quattrus cards and DVE modules are also available on an OEM basis to third-party developers wanting to integrate high-quality, real-time video I/O hardware into their own products and applications.

Under the new pricing structure, the VelocityQ line starts with the VelocityQ 0x4, with a U.S. suggested list price of $3,499 USD. The VelocityQ 2x4, which adds two channels of real-time 3D DVE effects, is now priced at $4,995, while the top-of-the-line VelocityQ 4x4 model (with four channels of real-time 3D DVE) is now available for $6,499 (with breakout cable) or $7,499 (with breakout box). VelocityQ is also available in fully integrated turnkey configurations starting at $9,999.
