Holophone Surround Sound Microphone Unveiled

Toronto, ON - VFGadgets and Rising Sun Productions have partnered to develop and market the new H2Pro Holophone surround sound microphone, capable of recording up to 7.1 channels of high-quality and discrete Surround Sound.
The patented H2-PRO audio capture device features eight DPA Model 4060 mics, which terminate in eight XLR cables. It is compatible with all recording consoles, multichannel preamps and portable hard disk location recorders that provide phantom power, the companies describe. The H2-PRO is the only surround sound recorder specifically designed to capture realistic, discrete Surround Sound in real time with no processing.
It is suitabble for all surround sound recording and broadcast applications -- concert halls, music, sports, field recording, Standard TV, DTV, HDTV, radio, webcasting, etc. It is lightweight, portable, and can be used in all outdoor environments.
The H2-PRO is compatible with all surround sound encoding/playback formats – Dolby, DTS, and Circle Surround, Imax etc..
The new Holophone H2-Pro Surround Sound Microphone will be initially promoted to audio rental companies interested in providing cutting edge sophisticated surround sound capture to their clients, and will be displayed at NAB 2005, April 18-21st in Las Vegas.
