InterVideo Movie Making, DVD Copying Solutions
January 07, 2005

Las Vegas, NV - InterVideo is delivering the latest version of its Instant Movie Maker video editing and production solution, as well as a new DVD copy solution for dual layer DVDs.

Instant Movie Maker takes raw video footage and instantly changes it to an entirely new look and feel, incorporating various movie clips, audio tracks and scene transitions. Various movie styles and templates are provided. Output to DVD, VCD or SVCD, as well as to the hard drive, can be selected, the company describes. Users can use the preview button to view the movie before it is actually output to the source.

Instant Movie Maker contains two modules: Instant Movie and Archive Video to Disc. With InterVideo's editing and filter technology, the editing mechanism integrated in the software will automatically go through captured video clips while intelligently analyzing and detecting key scenes from video footage. Once the analysis stage is completed, it automatically cuts and synchronizes these highlights to the rhythm of the chosen music; edits them together into a completed video production along with video effects, transitions, and background music. Also integrated with Instant Movie Maker, is InterVideo's patented UniPass technology that skips the rendering until the end, saving movie-making time.

Direct Recording technology allows users to burn videos from camcorders directly to a disc with an added menu, along with movie themes, from weddings to sporting events.

This technology does the buffering, rendering and burning in the background, in real time. The finished video can be saved in a variety of formats, including DV for playing and recording back to a camcorder, AVI for play back on a PC, ASF for streaming out over the Internet, MPEG-1 for burning onto CDs/DVDs and MPEG-2 for burning to DVD. With its broad compatibility, Instant Movie Maker supports popular video input and output formats: CD-R/RW, DVD+/-R/RW/-RAM disc or hard drive.

DVD Copy 3 is InterVideo's latest software for making copies of personal unencrypted DVD and CD videos. DVD+R DL technology virtually doubles the storage capacity on DVD-recordable discs from 4.7 GB to 8.5 GB while remaining compatible with existing DVD Video players and DVD-ROM drives.

InterVideo DVD Copy does not bypass copy protection, the manufacturer notes. DVDs containing CSS-encryption cannot be copied.

With the new DVD+R DL support, InterVideo DVD Copy 3 customers can record four hours of DVD-quality video or 16 hours of VHS-quality video on a single side of a DVD+R DL disc. Ideal for both novices and professionals, DVD Copy 3 makes creating and burning copies of CDs/DVDs much faster and easier than before.

In addition to supporting the new DVD+R DL format, DVD Copy 3 can be used to make duplicate videos on all of the established write-once and rewriteable formats, including DVD±R, DVD±RW, DVD-RAM, and CD-R/RW. Video output formats supported include DVD, VCD, SVCD, DivX, and M-DVD. To add and delete chapters, remove subtitles and audio tracks or change the aspect ratio, users copy the DVD-Video to their PC's hard drive in the MPEG-1, MPEG-2 or DivX format and click on the software's Customize Button. Videos that have simple editing fixes do not have to be re-rendered because InterVideo's UniPass technology integrates DVD creation and editing together.

Instant Movie Maker, compatible with Windows 2000 and XP systems, is priced at $49.95.

InterVideo DVD Copy 3, compatible with Windows 2000 and XP systems, is $49.95 USD for the Gold version and $79.95 for the Platinum version.
