December 24, 2004
Copenhagen, Denmark - KiSS Technology has launched a remote programming and recording feature for its digital video hard disk recorder.
KiSS Technology’s DP-558 DVD player and hard disk recorder features the Internet-serviced Electronic Programme Guide (EPG), and can now be remotely controlled via a cellphone or the Internet using a PC.
The user can access from for example the PC at work and programme recordings via the Internet. Furthermore, the solution has now been expanded and now KiSS has developed a solution where the user can carry out the same features via a cellphone, the company reports.
KiSS Technology’s hard disk recorder DP-558 also now supports files in Nero Digital format, and opend up new opportunities in digital video for users while playing back Nero Digital files in the highest quality.
KiSS Technology’s DP-558 hard disk recorder works with PC files, live television recording, as well as online applications such as WebRadio and online games. With Nero Recode 2 CE DVD transcoding software, any existing video file can be converted into the Nero Digital format, and be played back on the DP-558.
A network function in the product enables connection between the DP-558 and a PC or Mac. Favourite Nero Digital files can be stored and played back on the hard disk recorder itself, by means of its integrated 80 GB hard disk, without having to turn on the PC or having to burn and insert a CD or DVD. The user only needs to key the IP address of the DP-558 into the Internet browser of the PC to view the entire content of the hard disk recorder, or copy all the audio, video and picture files onto the DP-558 and rename them all on the hard disk from the PC, the manufacturer describes.
